This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site.
Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.

This qualification is suitable for those who want to purse or further a career in early childhood education and care and seeking a pathway to a higher level qualification.
CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care – $16,500 Tuition Fee , $1500Material Fee, $300 Enrolment Fee (52 weeks)
The tuition fee for this course may be paid in four (4) instalments in set due dates. The first instalment includes part of the tuition fee, material fee, and enrolment fee and it must be paid prior to enrolment. The Materials Fee will be payable every term before the start of the term.
All payments may be made by Bank Transfer to the nominated account or by cash.

Where the student is experiencing any difficulties , he /she should be referred to the Student Support Officer who will seek to assist. If the student ’s needs exceed
Australian College of Applied Business’ support capacity, it will
refer the student to an appropriate external agency.
It is Australian College of Applied Business’ policy to provide additional learning assistance to students who are struggling
without involving any additional costs.
Twelve (12) core units and three (3) elective units are required for the award of the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Units have been selected in accordance with the packaging rules and are relevant to the work outcome, local industry requirements and qualification level.
If a student has already achieved some skills and knowledge required by this qualification they may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The RPL process requires a student to:
provide all relevant documents of their prior learning
discuss their relevant experience to their assessors
provide an opportunity to their assessor to speak with their workplace supervisors, and undertake some practical tasks, if required
Learners who obtain a competent result for all 15 units will receive a Qualification in CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or Learners who do not obtain a competent result in all 15 units will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units they obtain competency in. Assessment may include a combination of various styles of assessments to be completed in-class or online via Moodle.
It is mandatory to complete work placement hours to be eligible for attainment of this qualification.
Potential employment options are as an Educator in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting.
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the other higher education qualifications in early childhood education and care.
